The other day, I was practicing visual meditation and pictured myself snorkeling in St. Thomas. All of a sudden, my husband was next to me and in this moment of pure calm, he walked in the door. He had left work early and I was not expecting him for a few hours. It's a feeling I get also in nature. When hiking in the Sequoias, I can feel the connection from the trees to the sky and ground below. The connection is sometimes overwhelming.
I believe that being aware of this connection is extremely important as a healer. In order to truly help another person, we have to do more than quantify their verbal complaints. we have to feel and sense from somewhere deeper and much more meaningful, what is the true state of this person?
I know what you mean about the connection to nature - I used to do a lot of whitewater rafting and I found after some time of rafting some of the same rivers that there was a "personality" to the river itself; there was a presence that I could feel that was more than just the water and rocks, etc.
ReplyDeleteI like what you said about the energy connecting you with your sister. I often feel this with friends and family I am close to. I feel there is definitely a greater force that is interwoven between all of us, but especially those whom we feel a bit more "connected" with.
